Understanding God's Love - Today's Verse

The law teaches us to love the Lord, our God with all our heart, body, mind and soul. But our heart has so many compartments, where we have accommodated people and things of our own choices into each one of them.

Imagine a family which has one kid and their parents pondering all their love onto this one kid. After a few years there is another baby born in this family. Now, the parents have started to give more attention and love to the second kid more than the first one. Each time they get to praise the new born, suddenly the thought of the first one comes to their mind and they also notice the first one is giving a very strange look to their behavior.

Well, that is the nature of love and it is filled with jealousy. There is no compromise in love. Mostly, it is just because of the proportion in which it is measured to the others, brings all the problem.

Measures of Love

For the elder one, not to get disheartened, we also cuddle him for sometime. This activity soothes the other person. But watch what a strange behavior, that we did give our attention to him to make sure that he shouldn't feel bad about it. Likewise God is watching you when you pour all your heart to something or someone else other than Him. He would wait until such time, till we understand that only He alone is the one who is worthy of all your love, praise and honor. Well, we have to admit that, He is the one who gave us a good spouse, beautiful children, great parents, kind brothers and sisters, a place to live and work, food and shelter, everything. If God has provided us with so much in His abundant love, why does our hearts hesitate in loving and seeking Him with all our Heart?

Treasure - Heart

When a kid is presented with a toy, He becomes happy and starts palying with it. For sometime he even forgets the one who gave the present to him and gets indulged with the gift. Perhaps we are also like that in our life. God has given us so many things and we have settled with that and set our minds to those gifts which God has given us. Those have become our treasures and our hearts are just behind them. As God says, wheresoever our Treasure is our heart follows it.

Father - Equality

Well, from a father's view both the kids gets equal attention. Even, the first one, when he was a little kid got the same love and care. In the eyes of the Father, both of them are equal. He shows no partiality between them. He treats everyone in common and that is the very nature of our Heavenly Father. May be the kids think that the Father loves the other more, but the truth is that the Father sees them equally. Understanding this, will make us to enter into His peace. The Truth will set us free.

Worthy of our love

If there is someone, who is not liking or against the amount of love, time and care which you give for God above them, then there is surely some trouble about that person. Well, give them all your life and serve with the God's love, till they understand that it is only God, the Father who is worthy of all our love. Each one in our life is a gift from God, We cannot protect them, give life for them or do anything to Him. Each one of us are carved in his hands. He cares for each one of us, more than we do. Let us not deceive each other by saying that you we care for them more than Jesus. Love each other with God's love. Let God alone get exalted through your love and not your 'self'. Love others as you love your 'self'.

The Illusion of Power: Wrestling with God's Will

Father and son doing hand wrestling In the chaos of life, it's easy to fall into the trap of believing we hold more power than we truly do. We convince ourselves that our decisions reign supreme, that we are the ultimate authority over our lives. Yet, in the grand scheme of things, are we truly more powerful than God? The truth is, we often find ourselves wrestling with the will of God, just as Jacob did in the book of Genesis. We assert our dominance, believing we can outmatch the divine plan with our own desires and actions. But just like Jacob, we come to realize the folly of our ways. Even the most powerful being on Earth cannot overpower the sovereignty of God. In Genesis 32:28, after wrestling with Jacob, God says, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome." This passage reminds us that even in our struggles, God is present, and His will ultimately prevails. It's a humbling realization t...

Empty that All You Have...

Luke 21:3,4 "this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on." Today if we try to empty ourselves and submit to God, then God is surely going to recognize us as she did for this poor widow. Remember it is easy to give an offering (money, gift, sacrifice) but it is tough to give our heart. It could be with any relationship Mom, Dad, Spouse, Children, but no body needs your money but your love.  Then how do we dare to do that with God, who is looking for our love, and we still give him the money. Money cannot get us anywhere, if we are very sure about that then why do we hesitate to leave that Money and come behind God. We decide whom we are eager to serve. We have been trained to serve our fears, our futures, our uncertainties and death. Jesus is the answer for our past, present and future. Drop yourself in that box of offering today, you will be as a pr...
