‘If you love me, keep my commandments’ John 14:15
The toughest thing in any person’s life is to obey another person. Especially if it is our parents, teachers, managers, brothers, sisters we find it extremely difficult.
To Obey Falsely
To the law which governs us and to the one who is policing us we yield ourselves with all sincerity. But deep inside our heart we would still want to do those mistakes. This is a false way of obeying things and there is no real benefit out of this. No one will be interested in our behavior, which conceals our true self and obeying the other person falsely. If our friend does it to us, then we know the real pain involved in it. He (or) she might do all the things you tell but actually they are not interested in your rather they don’t want to hurt your feelings.
One with a pleasing Heart
If someone wants to please another person, they are already doing what the other person is going to like. They don’t find a big revolt happening inside them to do the other person’s will. Since, they are already tuned to please the other person. This day let us analyze if we are also tuned the same way to please our master, our friend, our savior, Christ Jesus.
Enemy inside ‘Us’ – ‘Self’
Yes, the real enemy is none but the love of our ‘self’. We have started to care and love ourselves more than any other person. Hence, we are not able to please another person. We consciously live for our priorities, our selfish desires and for our own life. This is the reason for the battles in our heart, to obey God, our parents, teachers, brothers, sisters and all our fellow beings. To love God and serve one another in love will break all the yoke of slavery to the ‘Self’.
Love = Pleases = Obeys
Today, if we say that we really love God, let our actions prove it. True love tries to please more and more leading to no need of a commandment. Since, you have already tried to serve the purpose of the law. Love is the key word. Love fulfills the purpose of the commandments.
