It is always we who give value towards a thing or to a person. For example, the coal which is made to shine like a diamond is being valued by us. Gold which is taken from mud is being valued by us. It is just another ordinary thing by its form and source, but we treat it special by valuing it. By valuing this, we have classification, discrimination and separation among the people. Somebody is treated special, while the other is rejected.
Imagine what would happens if nobody values it. Gold, diamond and silver is just another mineral from the earth, a different form of dust particle. Since, everybody valued it, we want to possess at least a little of them so that we are recognized and valued in return. What would happen if nobody claps hand for a singer, dancer or a writer? What if no one is appreciated or treated special for what they do? What if no one says a wow... to whatever you do?
The same happens in a relationship, with friends, colleagues and with any fellow human being. We give value for them and we try to possess them. Well, till the time I have high values for them, I keep fighting till I get their attention. You are led by them or you keep running behind it.
"I think something or somebody to be valuable..... Well, let it be... What’s the big deal..!"
After sometime, even I fall into the same trap and try to find my value in the other peoples mind. Am I being valued and treated as a possession for the one whom I long for? This question will either make you go crying or for some focus on building their talents (the so called very special thing) to get recognized.
Can we come down and say that we are also like an ordinary mineral from the earth. Why should I be valued like Gold or a diamond or anything for somebody? Common and Uniform are words which can be easily used rather than be practiced. The moment every single human being starts saying, "I am not special"........"Everybody becomes Free".
"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Luke 12:34
